Collaboration and Legacy

Caroline and Penny: the Fine Art of Cuisine and Friendship

In 1986, Caroline Peterson opened Plum’s Cooking Co. It would become a regional destination for cooks, from beginners to experts, and a learning community where food lovers would gather and share their passion.

Thirty years later, Penny Klinedinst, owner of Simply Perfect, located in the same building learned that Caroline was retiring. Penny decided to purchase Plum’s to keep Caroline’s strong legacy alive and because Sioux Falls still needs this first-rate culinary resource and experience.

We’re among a number of incredible women-owned businesses in the 8th & Railroad Building. And we’re proud to be in such exceptional company.

Today, Plum’s is remodeled, with a new, state-of-the-art commercial teaching kitchen for a wide variety of exciting classes along with high quality culinary tools. Caroline continues to collaborate and consult with us, to make Plum’s the best it can be.

Let’s keep in touch.
